Paper Assignment: Write a critical evaluation, using at least six of the assigned cases as evidence, of the following claim:

“The Supreme Court has consistently interpreted the powers of Congress in accordance
with the intentions of the Framers of the original Constitution and its later amendments.”

As evidence of the Framers’ intentions, you must use only the Federalist essays assigned for this course, together with the relevant provisions of the original Constitution and Civil War Amendments.
You or your group may take any position you wish to address this assignment: complete agreement, complete disagreement, partial agreement, partial disagreement. The papers will be graded on the reasoned cogency of your arguments, including how well you understand the Framers’ intentions, and how well you use the judicial decisions as evidence to make your case.

Paper Rules:
(1) The Fundamental Rule: No source, other than the material assigned for this course, is to be used in any way in this assignment. Any evidence of such use will result in failure for the course. All students working in a group must beware that you are collectively responsible for the integrity of the work you submit.
(2) All lines should be double-spaced with reasonable margins and fonts. Use a staple in the upper left-hand corner. No title or cover page. Use simple page citations in the text of your essay.
(3) Check grammar and spelling; then re-check grammar and spelling.
